Terms of Use

Last updated 10 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Saathi Technologies Private Limited ("Saathi", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Saathi app or website you accept them, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.

1. Who can use Saathi

You may use Saathi only if all of these are true:

If you are using Saathi for marriage, you confirm that you are legally eligible to marry under the law that applies to you, including the minimum ages for marriage.

2. Your account

3. What Saathi is (and is not)

Saathi helps adults meet for friendship, casual dating, serious relationships and marriage. You choose your intent, and we show it on your profile so people can decide whether you are looking for the same thing.

Saathi is an intermediary under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Members create the profiles, messages and calls; we do not create, select or modify that content, though we may moderate it as described below.

Saathi is not a matrimonial bureau, an escort or "friendship club" service, or a background-check provider. We do not arrange meetings and we do not guarantee that you will find a match, that anyone will reply, or that a relationship or marriage will result.

4. How you must behave

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In particular, under Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules, 2021, you must not host, upload, share or send anything that:

You also must not: ask for or offer money, gifts, loans or investments; advertise or solicit commercial sex; scrape, copy or reverse-engineer the service; create accounts by automated means; use the service for any business purpose; or record, screenshot or share another member's photos, messages or calls without their consent.

5. Your content

You own the photos, voice notes, text and other content you add ("your content"). You give Saathi a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, display, reproduce, resize and transmit your content only to operate, improve, secure and promote the service within the app. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for content that others have already received (such as messages you sent) and copies we must keep by law.

You confirm you have the right to share your content and that photos you upload are of you. Do not upload photos of other people without their consent, or any photo of a child.

7. Safety and verification

We do not run criminal background checks or verify the identity or statements of members, except as described here. A "Verified" badge means only that a member's live selfie matched their profile photos when they verified; it does not confirm anything else about them.

You are responsible for your interactions with other members. Read our safety tips, meet in public places, and never send money to someone you met on Saathi. Features such as Safe Date sharing and SOS are aids, not a substitute for emergency services. In an emergency, call 112.

8. Moderation and enforcement

We use automated tools and human reviewers to check photos, profiles and reported messages, and to detect scams and spam. When we find content or behaviour that breaks these terms or the law, we may remove content, limit features, warn, suspend or permanently ban an account, and, where required, preserve information and report it to law enforcement. Under the IT Rules, 2021 we act on valid court orders and government notices within the time the law requires, and on complaints about intimate images shared without consent within 24 hours.

We will tell you when we take action against your account, unless the law or the safety of others prevents it. You can contest a decision through the grievance process.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account) or as described on this page. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect members. What happens to your data after deletion is explained in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Saathi is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any member on or off the app.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Saathi is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the claim, or ₹1,000. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

You agree to compensate Saathi for losses caused by your breach of these terms or the law, to the extent the law allows.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please first raise any dispute through our grievance process so we can try to resolve it. Subject to your rights as a consumer to approach a consumer commission, courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction.

12. Grievances and contact

Our Grievance Officer under the IT Rules, 2021 and the DPDP Act, 2023 is Grievance Officer, reachable at grievance@saathi.app, India. Details, timelines and an online form are on our grievance page.

Saathi Technologies Private Limited, Registered office address, India.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service or the law changes. We will notify you in the app before material changes take effect. If you continue using Saathi after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.
